Community Theatre team exists in Kannur, Malappuram, Eranakulam, Kollam& Pathanamthitta. In addition to this Thrissur and Alappuzha District also owned a group of Community Theatre team

Q 5.Can we use Rangasree (Community Theater) team for the campaign programmes for Government Department and agencies?

Yes, Rangasree team can be used for this purpose and they already completed a State wide campaign for NHM in March 2017

The main activities include (1) Situational analysis (2) Gender sensitization training and AHT awareness campaigns for both the community and the officials (3) Identifying the High Risk Group Members (4) Provide them livelihood support through Income Generation Programme and Vulnerability Reduction Fund.

Q 1.Who can be a member of JLG ?

Any member of Kudumbashree network, interested to undertaking agriculture as an activity can be part of a JLG

Q 2.Can male be a members of the JLG ?

No, only female are allowed to be part of the JLG, however support of male members on voluntary or employment basis can be undertaken by the JLG

Q 3.What are support provided by Kudumbashree for agriculture activity ?

a) Kudumbashree facilities bank linkage for agriculture activity and provides a interest subvention of 5% on loan taken for an amount up to Rs.1,00,000/-

b) Kudumbashree provides agriculture incentives based on the crop cultivated as per the prevailing norms

c) Kudumbashree facilities training on good agriculture practices for the farmers based on the demand

Q 4.What are support provided for terrace/ grow bag cultivation ?

Kudumbashree has numerous micro enterprises promoting grow bag cultivation, on contacting these micro enterprises, grow bags filled with potting mixture and crops of choice would be delivered at the homes. The contact number can be obtained from the respective district mission

Q 1.What are the State schemes promoted by Kudumbashree Mission to start  Micro enterprises ?

The Kudumbashree strategy for Micro Enterprise development includes promotion of individual and group enterprises through the RME and Yuvasree enterprise schemes.

Q 2.What is RME scheme ?

This scheme is exclusively designed for women under the age group of 18-55. The micro enterprises group will be given a subsidy of Rs. 10000 per member or 50% of total project cost which ever is less. The individual enterprise will be eligible to get a  subsidy of Rs. 7500 per member or 30% of the total project cost which ever is less.

Q 3.What is Yuvashree Scheme?

Yuvasree group (or 50 K group) consists of both men and women in the age group 18-35 years. This is an initiative of Kudumbashree mission to provide work to the unemployed youth who are below poverty line. These people are given the freedom to start an enterprise in which they are interested and Kudumbashree supports them just like how it supports the other enterprises run by women. Individual enterprises are given Rs. 7500 as subsidy or 30% of the total project cost which ever is less. Group enterprises are given a subsidy of Rs. 10000 per member or 50% of the total project cost which ever is less

Q 5.Who are Micro Enterprise Consultants (MEC)?

Micro Enterprise Consultants (MEC) were identified and placed in each Gram Panchayat. These were men and women having graduation  identified by the CDS from among Kudumbashree families who were provided adequate training by the Mission to support enterprises sector

Q 6.What  are the support provided by Micro Enterprise Consultants?

Micro Enterprise Consultants provide training, handholding and marketing   support to enterprises in their assigned location

Q 7.What is Santhwanam project ?

Santhwanam is a major intervention of Kudumbashree in the Health sector.Women from Kudumbashree families having a plus-two education or graduation in science are selected for enterprises. They are given seven days of intensive training on technical inputs and personality development by Health Action by People (HAP), an NGO headed by a group of committed doctors. The entrepreneurs are trained in checking the height, body weight, body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol of people they visit at home to check on their diseases. The medical equipments and strips  required for the check ups are supplied by HAP.

Q 8.What is Nutrimix ?

The Amrutham Nutrimix food supplement is provided to all Anganwadis of Kerala under the THRS scheme of Social Welfare Department on a fortnight basis for children of 6 months to 3 years age group. Kudumbashree units are assigned to produce this weaning food across state.

Q 1.What is thrift?

The small regular  savings which is fundamental to the NHGs and helps in building up a strong common fund.

Q 2.What is Internal Lending?

Once an NHG has accumulated sizeable amount in the form of savings say for a period of about 3-6 months, the members may be allowed to avail loans against their savings for emergent consumption

Q 3.What is Bank Linkage program?

Bank Linkage Program aims to deliver financial products & services to Neighbourhood Groups that consists of  the section of population that lacks access to formal banking. The NHGs are engaged in promoting savings habits among their members would be eligible to open savings bank accounts with banks. Once they have accumulated a base of their own capital and have established a track record of regular repayments banks borrow money to these groups. NABARD has developed a 15-point index for rating NHGs on the basis of which they will be allowed to link with various banks under the Linkage Banking Scheme.

Q 4.What is Matching Grant ?

Easy access to bank linkage program has checked the poor from approaching money lenders. In order to motivate the NHGs to come forward for bank linkage program Kudumbashree has designed an incentivizing program called matching grant. Here the linked NHG will be given a grant of Rs.5000/- or 10% of their thrift( Whichever is lesser)
