Pathanamthitta District Mission is actively involved in different campaigns during Sabarimala Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season. Plastic free Sabarimala, Pilgrim Amenity Centre, Light refreshment kiosks are the major interventions Kudumbashree have done during this season.
Rain Water has got huge relevance in the present scenario of Kerala. It could be used wisely to overcome the water scarcity in the districts. Several district missions had taken up this issue with great importance. Not only as a socially responsible act, but also it is viewed as an initiative to find livelihood for women. In Palakkad district, Sujalam, rain water harvesting project had been implementing for the past few years.
By issuing ID cards Kerala became the first state in the country to ensure the proper inclusion of street vendors in the market, thereby in the society. The programme was implemented throughout the 93 Urban Local Bodies in Kerala. And Palakkad district was more active than other districts in the state and almost completed the ID card distribution.
The project started by Kottayam district mission as part of National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM). Kudumbashree is the nodal agency of NULM in Kerala. CLC in Kottayam is in Thadathilpparambu building near Vyaparabhavan. he CLC will act as a bridge between urban poor and middle , higher income groups who are accessing various services like security, carpentry, gardening, construction, plumbing, electrical work, health care support, housekeeping which in turn is provided by Urban Poor.
Only a skilled generation can bring prosperity to a country. Through Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Government of India had been trying to make the maximum number of younger generation be skilled and to secure a living of their own. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana offers skill training in different trades which assures job placements as well. Construction, the process of constructing a building or infrastructure is one among those sectors that DDU-GKY offers skill training and assures job placement. Let’s look into the positive results that the DDU-GKY construction trainings had brought out in Malappuram District!
It is a project which aims at distributing aids and appliances to persons with disabilities at Pathanamthitta District. For this project Kudumbashree join hands with Vocational Rehabilitation Centre for handicapped Trivandrum and district administration.
Pathanamthitta District Mission is way ahead in utilizing free space or buildings under government ownership to form and establish livelihood projects for kudumbashree members. The Mount Inn amenity centre in Malayalappuzha, is the perfect example for this.
How the Superwomen of Harithakarmasena in Karulai Panchayath changed the life of a village altogether! This is about a group of few women who came forward to keep their place clean believing that it’s something more than a job. Moreover by cleaning their places thereby serving the whole humanity.
It is a unique programme started by Pathanamthitta District Mission in association with District administration to give all kind of services and care for senior citizen. This programme started at the year 2015 and now become a great example for the entire state.
Thennala Kudumbashree CDS set a mark before the whole society with a different but wonderful initiative. It’s nothing but the organic rice cultivated and branded by themselves- Thennala Rice.! And it literally created a ‘rice revolution’. Every rice grain will say the story of a few women who believed in themselves and were not ready to accept the defeat so easy. Thennala Rice is the story of a group of women’s confidence and pain.
