The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategy Council, (K-DISC) is a strategic think-tank and advisory body constituted by the Government of Kerala. K-DISC aims at bringing out path-breaking strategic plans that reflect new directions in technology, product and process innovations, social shaping of technology and creating a healthy and conducive ecosystem for fostering innovations in the State. Confronted with second-generation issues in many key sectors, Kerala is facing challenges of providing holistic health care, employment-oriented skilling, enhancing quality of education, high quality social security, continued food and nutrition security with a pro-poor bias, gender justice and inclusion of outliers, all within severe fiscal constraints.
A Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) initiative, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission (KKEM), aims to create jobs for the educated by transforming Kerala into a Knowledge Society that produces, consumes and transacts knowledge for the benefit of its own social and economic development. Over the next four years, the Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission aims to provide gainful employment to 20 lakh people in various sectors and job fields. The Knowledge Economy Mission aims to use digital technologies as an enabler to create new knowledge that can be used to solve contemporary and future social problems, foster sustainable development, and foster intellectual growth.

As a part of this, Kerala Knowledge Economy Mission entrusted Kudumbashree Mission to organise the "My Job My Pride" project to achieve the target. With the help of Kudumbashree Mission a state level survey was conducted and identified 53 lakh job seekers.
