The Mission conducted a survey to analyze the skill gap of the state after post floods.  The objective is to explore the opportunities in employment so that potential employment can be generated in the identified sectors.  The survey highlighted the areas of House Keeping, Housemaid, Plumbing, Electronic Repair, Electrical Work, Day Care, Agriculture Labour(Coconut Climbing & Grass cutting), Sales, Data Entry and Laundry & Ironing.  The Mission intend to train 50,000 persons in these sector based on their interest and to provide employment to them linking the industries and Govt./ Private organization’s which needed these services. In addition to that, this project aims to create a team of multi task personnel skilled in multiple areas like Plumbing, Electronics repair, Electrical work, essential Carpentry and Masonry. 

 

In 2019-20, training has provided to 14049 candidates in the first phases and 216 multi task teams have formed in 193 CDSs. In the long run, the Mission will develop a job portal where the trained persons will be enrolled and services will be provided to registered users in the portal.  Development of a call centre and integration with the Facility Management Centers of Kudumbashree developed as part of Kochi Metro, Urban service team of Kudumbashree will be done to ensure employment to the trained personnel.  The objective is to make a pool of skill persons as per the market demand and to ensure their income.

Kudumbashree Mission as part of providing livelihood opportunity for their members has identified construction as a potential area for income generation. For this, Kudumbashree members interested in construction sector will be identified in districts and will be provided training through accredited training agencies. Those who have completed training will be formed as groups and will be registered as accredited construction units in respective Local self government Institutions. As of today 288 Kudumbashree construction units has been formed across the state, engaged in construction activities of houses under government housing schemes, PWD, and under MGNREGA.
