The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in partnership with the State/UT Governments has launched an all India Centrally Sponsored PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprise Scheme (PM FME Scheme) for providing financial, technical and business support for upgradation of existing micro food processing enterprises. It is a five year project and the expenditure under the scheme would be shared in 60:40 ratio between Central and State Governments.

 

The PMFME scheme aims to support for capital investment for up gradation and formalization with registration for GST, FSSAI, Hygiene Standards and Udyog Aadhaar, Capacity Building through skill training, Imparting technical Knowledge of food safety, standards & hygiene and quality improvement, handholding support for preparation of DPR, availing bank loan and up gradation . With this mandate MOFPI has come up with various schemes namely

 

1. Support to Individual Micro Enterprises in terms of credit linked capital subsidy @35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs. 10 lakhs

 

2. Seed capital @ Rs. 40000/- per member of NHG for working capital and purchase of small tools would be provided under the scheme. This would be given as grant to the CDS and would be provided as a loan to the members of NHGs>

 

3. Support for common processing facility, Incubation Centre , premises for assaying of agriculture produce, sorting, grading, warehouse, and cold storage at the farm gate etc.
