Program Managers working in the state mission and in the districts play a crucial role in implementation of various projects and programs. It was decided to designate 2017 as “Year of Micro Enterprises (ME)”. “My ME” project envisages adoption of one micro enterprise by one program manager, as a part of “Year of Micro Enterprises” campaign.

The program manager will make the first visit to the enterprise before 1st July 2017, and the report of first visit will be uploaded in the website. The next three months will be the time to focus on implementing innovative ideas by him/ her to improve the performance of the micro enterprise. There will be an interim evaluation in October 2017, and the final evaluation of the improvement made by each officer will be done in February 2018.

District level and State level awards will be given to the best program manager who makes a real difference to the production, marketing and profit of the micro enterprise.

5 Reena David District Program Manager -MKSP DEVI Umbrella Making Unit, Nagaroor Kudumbashree unit started in the year 2016, with five members in Nagaroos CDS   Devi Umbrella making unit is a registered micro enterprises under Nagarur CDS. The unit started in the year 2016 and making umbrellas in their homes. There are five members in the unit. They sell their products locally now. They want to develop their production capacity and marketing areas. They dont have bank linkage yet.    
6 Neethu L Prakash District Program Manager -Microfinance Ambadi Garments and Stiching Unit,Kavuvila ,Pothencode A Kudumbashree Initiative Micro enterprise started on 2017 January with 6 Active members. Their main activity is stiching and paper bag making.   The unit started in January 2017 with Community Investment Fund 50000/.They make small paper bags.The unit got raw materials from the agency giving order.They are interested to make big paper bags.They need big punching machine to make big bags.It is expensive for them to buy    
7 Rohini A M District Program Manager - DDU-GKY Sakhi Floor Mat unit, Aliyode, Manickal Gramapanchayath, phone no: 9497471489 Sakhi Floor Mat unit was started in the year 2012 With 10 members. Their main activity is making floor mat using cotton waste cloth.   Unit started: - 2012, Active members: - 9, Machinery available: - 5 Handloom machine, Building: - Not available, they were working in a shed, Due to the rainy weather they don’t have a proper place to sit together and work. Because of this reason machinery has been shifted to different places, Financial support: - Not taken any financial support, Average annual turnover: - 1.48 lakh, During the tenure aimed to strengthen their activities and facility for doing the same through that they can increase their production and marketing.    
8 Mohamed Shan S S Marketting Consultant Swanthanam,Kuttiyani ,Karakulam Grama Panchayat Swanthanam group was started on 2012 Active Member -5  They are manufacturing Electronic Chok, Serial Bulb , Emergency Lights, Soap, Lotion    This group mainly manufacturing  Electronic Choke, Serial Bulb, Emergency Lights. Financial Support :- 3 lakhs . One year back they were got approximately Rs 20000 as a monthly profit .At present ,Open markets demand only in energy Saving  LED light and emergency Lamps. That’s the reason they were got profit around Rs 2000 only. They were need a Skill up gradation training for competing the new market.    
9 ullas Office Secretarial Staff Choice  Cotton Bag Unit,Andoorkonam Grama Panchayat Ph No:-9446174528 choice paper bag unit was started in recently with 5 members   They are mainly produce Big shoppers ,Cotton bag,Uniform they were took 2 lakhs loan in central bank They are interested to start umberalla making

A.K Office Secretarial Staff Sayoogyam Paper carrybag Unit,Vallakkadavu Papercarry bag unit started in 2015 with 5 members.This is under perunthanni ADS   This unit is started 2015,It is papercarrybag manufacturing unit  in thiruvananthapuram corporation CDS III .President Shameena, Secratary Rejani.This unit got technology fund of amount 5 lakh rupees in 2015.They had good mechineries but work order is less due to the lack of paper of goof quality and necessary fund requirements the woek order is very low.    
11 David.M,OSS Office Secretarial Staff Railway Parking,Parassala The parking maintained by Santhwanam/Soorya group . It was started in 2012.The group affiliation No.368/13, Active members each group have 11/14. Ph.9496190852   There were handling in a shed due to the rainy day they have no proper place to sit and collect the parking fee.    
12 Anjana Accountant Mahima Poultry Farm, Valiya vila, Kodunganoor (P.O) The Unit started in 2014, under SJSRY project. The unit consists of 5 members.
President: Shylaja - 8593087621, Secretary: Nisha 9645258697		   The total project cost is 1,50,000/-. The subsidy amount is 42,000/-. Poultry farming is the main work done by this unit. At first each members get 36 chickens. The members need physical and financial support from the concerned agency .    
13 Jerry Das DL Samagra Block Cordinator Thanima Paper Carry Bag, Moozhi Nedumangadu They has started funtioning on 2016. A grroup of 5 women working really well to attain a stable ico-me of their own. They mainly focusing on making of Paper Carry Bags.   This unit started working in the recent times. The training they had recieved is good so far. The main concern of the unit is that they need financial assistance to obtain raw materials in large scale. They told me that they are getting big orders but unable to process orders because of lack of raw materials. Team is well trained and they are also asking about possibility of making bags with the help of machines. Right now the unit is working in the house of a unit member and now it seems they could manage the facility on that premise. But in the near future, they will need a well furnished and office and production space also.    
14 Sanooja B Samagra Block Cordinator salu motor driving school, Vilavoorkkal salu motor driving school started in 2011 with five members.   There main activity is to teach driving in two wheeler and four wheeler. the unit has taken an amount of RS .128000 as loan with IOB bank.they have a good rented building. but the unit is running in very loss. they can get good profit if they use four wheeler with good condition. presently they are using a maruthi old version.     
15 Jeeva L DDUGKY Block Co-Ordinator Sakthi Candle Unit, Thattamukku, Mayam The  ME Group including 5 active members   This unit started 2014. They had infrastructure fascilities but noe they need bank loan.    
16 RINSI U.K DDUGKY Block Co-Ordinator BEDHESTHA PALMLEEF UNIT, VINIMAYAM KUDUMBASHREE,KOTTUKAL UCHAKKADA The unit was started in the year 2010 including 10 members.    Presently the group is facing lots of problems like unavailability of materials, low market value etc.    
17 MAHESH.P DDUGKY Block Co-Ordinator BHAVANA, SOAP UNIT,SHOOLAMKUDI,ARUMANOOR,POOVAR Bhavana soap unit is a unit under bhavana nhg and it was started in 2010.This unit have 11 members.   Bhavana soap unit started in 2010 .Total coast of the unit is about 10000.This is only a small unit .They cannot take any loan for the unit.The members share the money for starting the unit.They need a production unit place.They cannot get proper profit from the unit.    
18 Rakhi  DDUGKY Block Co-Ordinator Sivashakthi Oushathi unit, Venpakal,Athiyanoor Sivashakthi Oushathi unit started in the year 2007 with 4 active members.   The unit is manufacturing and selling Medicinal flours. At preent they are getting an annual turnover of Rs. 10000/-. They dont have fixed benefits from their work as they are working depending upon order.

21 Vincy.V.S MKSP Block co ordinator Janani Catering unit Janani catering unit started in 2016 with 5 members   This unit serving homely& delicious food.    
22 Jalajakumari. V Data Analyst Keralashree Social Service Society, Kudumbashree Office, Pattom Palace.P.O A Kudumbashree Initiative Employment Gateway. An ME  group including  7 active Members.   Keralashree mainly aims to provide employment Kudumbashree and educated Kudumbashree family members by reporting vacancy from various institutions.

The main product of this unit is Curry power items such as - Chilly, Turmeric, Coriander etc.   Strategic business unit (SBU) - which focuses on product offering and market segment, typically have a discrete marketing plan and presently Unit operates almost completely autonomously good    
5 Riyas. A Samagra Block Co-ordinator vehicle parking @ Railwaystations in Alappuzha district  This project started at alappuzha station on 22-03-2016.Now in alappuzha district, vehicle parking project implimented in 6 railway stations.The stations are Alappuzha,Cherthala,Harippad,Thuravur,Mavelikkara,Chenganur   Now the project is active. All stations facing some problems like income,basic facilities,etc.

O, Alappuzha 688004 This formed as on 20/6/2014.This unit worked in the field of Catering Service   NPresently they are working according to order. they dont get orders frequently nor monthly once. The unit is working in members house premises. They dont have all utensils and vessels theirown. As they have not yet received any financial assistance.Now, this group have 7 members.Bank has not yet issued Bank Loan.got 16 day training from KITCO.    
7 Lini Thomas DDU-GKY Block Co-ordinators Pournamy Food Products, kunnangari p o, changanachery This unit  formed with 4 members on 2015.   They dont have approved project. Currently unit is not working regularly.They didn't get proper training and no financial assistance.

P.O, ALAPPUZHA This unit formed with 5 members on 09-03-2017.They focused production and sale of  rice powder   unit have good working strategy and quality products. But their packing and accounting system is not satisfactory.They got training but didn't get any financial assistance.They dont have books of accounts    
9 Rafsana. S DDU-GKY Block Co-ordinators Kairali, Thiruivilakku,                South Aryad, Alappuzha This unit started on 18/02/2002.This RME unit produces Turmeric powder, Chilly powder, Coriander powder, Pepper powder, Rice powder,Prill, Harpik, Soap powder.   Kairali unit is active but they dont have marketing space.The monthly  average income of this unit is Rs.15000/-.    
10 Shithin Babu MKSP Block Co-ordinators Butterfly Tailoring unit, Kalarickal,   ward 3 ,Thuravoor The unit formed in 2011 with 5 members.The products of the unit are Dress materials - Churidar ,saree , nighty etc...and in addition Soap,soap powder etc.   Presently working good and recently they established their activity. 4Members are hard working and year wise auditing completed.They started their onam work.This unit didn't get any financial assistance till now. They completed training.They shared income on the basis of sales.    
11 Liji MKSP Block Co-ordinators Thriveni ME group, ward 2 panampu kadu,Perumpalam This unit formed on 2013 with 5 members under RME .The main products of this unit are chammanthi powder (two types),cocunut laddu (two types), vergin cocunut oil,coconut choclates   At present, they are working good condition,good team work,but they have no proper details and proper registers.Average Monthly Income is Rs.5000 .it will varies based on sales.The Details of Accounting  is not systamatic,book keeping is not proper,no auddit.

 		 This 10 members RME unit  focused on soap products.   Very good hard work , good quality products.They got training but didn't get any financial assistance    
13 Suremya. P. S MKSP Block Co-ordinators Sreedurga Soap products, Punnapra North The unit started in the year 2007 with 10 
members. 		   The unit need more training to improve. A shelter for marketing their
products.

The group have only 6 members.They got only skill  training.They didnot get any financial help.

Now this unite run by 11 members.  Total loan amount sanctioned from Idukki Co-operative Bank is Rs 5,50000/(Rupees Five lakhs fifty thousand only)Total labors of the unite is 18 including the members of the unite.Supervicer-2,Boiler operator-2,Doby-2,Driver and helper 2,Helpers-2(Male labors of the unite.)The labors monthly wage is between 5000/- to 10000/-.
 Laundry unit  Munnar has its own vehicle (Auto) also. Monthly  rent of the building is Rs-5000/-
The unite members are facing some challenges
1. Language problem(Tamil – Malayalam)
2. Lack of empowerment and technical skill
 This discussions with the members of the unite it is understand that the unit would be function well with proper training and follow up support from Kudumbasree.		    
6 Ajmi Shafi Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Karunamritham Organic Manure Unit, Moozhickal, Peruvanthanam Karunamritham Organic manure unit is under the Amritha Kudumbashree Unit. The members of unit is 10. This is an ST unit. The Karunamritham unit members are dividing grass equally for cutting and producing organic manure.  So they spend more time for the production.  If Kudumbashree Mission support to them to get a grass cutting machine, they could produce more organic manure.    
7 Anju Baby Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Agriculture Nursery with Biopharmacy (Priyanka JLG),  Pampadumpara Agriculture Nursery located inPampadumpara Grama Panchayath. This ME unit contain three rain shelter and Biopharmacy and sale of Grow bag with empblem of Kdumbashree.  This JLG group has 4 members which was formed in the 12th January 2003. Priyanka JLG members preparing vegitable seedlings for JLG members of Kanjikuzhy and Senapathi Grama Panchayath. Pepper seedlings, Vegetable Seedlings, Hormones, Bio-fertilizers and manures, organic insecticides and pesticides that  are sold through this agriculture Nursery and Bio pharmacy.    
8 Anju V.R. Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Pavithra Hotel & Catering Service, Kambilikandam The Micro Enterprise Pavithra hotel and catering service started on 5th july 2013, in konnathady Grama panchayath. This unit started with four members. The members are Salomi Joseph (Pr.), Sumangala Vijayan (Sec.), Mini Thankachan and Eliya Sabu. Pavithra Hotel and Catering unit is doing well in business with per month 112000/- turnover. The unit get 35000/- as Revolving fund from District Mission     
9 Shareena Hameed Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Twins Bakery & Cool Bar, Muttom P.O, Thodupuzha The ME unit twins bakery & coolbar started from 14/02/2017 in muttom gramapanchayath. The enterprise which consists of four members.

The unit members are Thasni Ummer, Nisha Kabeer , Sumitha Aliyar and Soujath Aboobakker. This ME is formed under by Amrutha NHG. Daily profit is 3500 only. The unit have Rs. 175000/- as bank loan. Now the unit is functioned well.

    
10 Syama P Mohanan Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Udayam Excel Soap Factory,KM/101/2011, Kodikulam CDS Udayam Excel Soap factory unit under the control of  Kodikulam CDS. The Register Number is KM/101/2011

The Udayam Excel Soap Factory unit run by 10 members.  The unit is average good and they said that Kudumbashree mission provide any financial support they could run their unit better than present condition. 

    
11 Jayasmitha P. Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Minnaram garments and tailoring unit, Vellayamkudy P.O, Kattappana Minnaram is a garments and tailoring unit started in kattappana CDS with 10 SC members in 2016 with the help of SC department and kudumbasree. Initially Minnaram unit have 10 members but due to some internal problems now the unit working with only 2 members.  President Indhu Gireesh and Secretary Smita Ajeesh. They started with the working capital of Rs. 600000/-. They need continuous support form District mission for the better functioning of the unit    
12 Jijo Jose Block Co-ordinator (MKSP) Feather touch, Vathikkudy CDS Pulari NHG (Reg. No. 143702 ) members from 6th ward Josepuram  ADS of  Vathikkudy CDS have started a Readymade and tailoring unit in   29th February 2016  named Feather touch. Aswathy Shibu, Shiji Shaji , Rashmi Abhilash, Shiji Shajan, and Geetha Rajan are the members of the group. The five members running this unit also work with co operation and they take their products to nearby shops. The mbers can earn upto 20000 rupees per month. If the unit can by a cutter machine , five sewing machine and the needed labourers , the unit can make good profit. The unit got enough support from the CDS and as well as from the district Mission. An amount of Rs 35000 was given to the unit from district Mission as Revolving Fund.    
13 Aneesh VC Block Co-ordinator (DDU GKY) ANGEL EGGER NURSERY,  Mullaringadu, Reg No. VPM.J/03/15/02 Angel Egger Nursery is a Nursery run by four NHG member of Angel NHG of 1st ward ADS of Vannappuram CDS. Its not registerd in Kudumbashree as ME. They buy the chickus on its birthday and feed for 45 days and sell it. Angel Egger Nursery, started as part of ATMA demonstration plot in 2008. The nursery could develop 3000chickes at time but the aprovel from government is given for 2000 chickes. They are buying chickes on its birthday with Rs 24per chickes. Then they have to give food and medicine in time for next 45 days. It expenses Rs.60/chickes. They are selling at the rate of Rs100/chickes. They have to meet all the expenses like transportation for buying and selling the chickes, their own labour charge, electricity etc. They are selling the chickes mainly to government projects like LSGD, Vetinary departments, schools etc.   In the initial period it was good functioning with the support of ATMA. Now they are in pathetic situation. Not able to maintain the shed, they have to give great amout as tax when they are bringing chickes from Chengannur and also while selling in far away panchayats. They are not registerd in Kudumbashree as unit but they are functioning as Kudumbashree unit. Registration number they are used in registration in government is of Kudumbashree NGH. This number is in all papers and certificates, therefore they could not change this number while registering in Kudumbashreee.    
14 Rintu Ravindran Block Co-ordinator (DDU-GKY) POLIMA FOOD PRODUCTS (FLOUR MILL), MANAKKAD CDS The micro enterprise polima food products started from 2014 (RegNo.MKD/VII/2/14) in manakkad gramapanchayath.This is a sc enterprise which consis of 5 members (Lalitha Mani- President,OmanaChinnappan- Secretary, UshaSanthosh, DivyaNandagopal, AmminiHaridas) and is running panchayath building.  They got all the machines with the help of the panchayath. There are no loans till date. In this ME unit all types of grains, chilly, coriander, turmeric are powdered, packed and sold. This includes roasted rice powder (avalosupodi) also. They does not have roasting machine. Currently, they are using fire oven. During rainy season, it is very difficult to get firewood. It is very hard to roast more quantiy of powder.  They didn’t get any allowance from district mission yet. Kindly provide finance or help to take a loan to buy a new roasting machine. So that they can improve their micro enterprise unit.    
15 Anoobi K James Block Co-ordinator (DDUGKY) Ruchi Food Service, Adimaly P.O, Adimaly Ruchi Food Service situated in Adimaly Grama Panchayath. They have 4 members in unit and the unit started in 10th April 2017. The unit have good infrastructure facilities. Now the unit have Rs.200000/- as their bank loan. The unit is functioning very well and provide good service. They need support for development of the unit.    
16 Sethulakshmi K.S. Block Co-ordinator (NRLM) Oruma Tailoring and Readymade unit, Vathikudy Oruma Tailoring unit is started its functioning by 30th May 2017 with 8 members.  They are Princy Joseph (Pr.), Daisy Thankachan (Sec), Bindhu Saju, Deepa Manoj, Prameela Sasi and Rani Jacob.

Oruma unit started their function with the help of Vathikudy Grama panchayath. Grama Panchayath provided them to Rs. 500000/- as from Plan Fund including Stitching machine, Cutting machine, table, chairs and necessary equipments and all the preliminary works coordinated by Panchayath committee.  The entire functioning of the unit is guided by Panchayath, CDS and ICDS Supervisor.

               

    
17 Binu Sreedharan Block Co-ordinator (NRLM) BUTLER BAKES,  Reg no: 20/X111 2013,A Kudumbashree Enterprises, Udumabannoor P.O. Kulappara  "BUTLER BAKES" is a Kudumbasree Micro Enterprise in Idukki district headed by 5 Kudumbasree members. "BUTLER BAKES" is an ME initiative form Swapna, Sujatha, Kamalamma, Mallika and Rosely of Udumbannoor CDS in Idukki district. Their main products are bread, bun, rusk, cupcakes, plum and carrot cakes and biscuits.  The ME is having an annual turnover of approximately Rs 20 Lakh.    
18 Sreelakshmi M Karuvallil Block Co-ordinator (NRLM) Smart Group Tailoring centre, Rajakkadu P.O, Rajakkadu ‘Smart Group Tailoring centre’ working under Rajakkadu CDS, as my ME. They started their journey with10 NHG members those who know the basic of tailoring and formed a group in the year 2015, and named their group as Smart Group tailoring. They have selected Smt. Latha Subeesh as unit President, Smt. Manjula Viju as unit secretary. In the year 2016 they have registered as a Micro Enterprises in the Rajakkadu CDS.

They acquired ample support and training for tailoring works conducted by the Kudumbashree Mission and agencies like R-SEITY. That made them more confident and took it as a challenge. With the help of various machines they are doing all type of stitching work.

Machines Used:They are mainly using the machine like Stitching, Button hole, Lock machine, Embroidery machine etc for the purpose of various tailoring works. Currently they are getting the stitching order from Schools, Readymade centre and from local people. They are capable of doing all type of stitching works like School uniforms, nighty, under skirt, shirt, overcoat, pants, churidhar, bed cover etc. They are doing embroidery work also. Each members of Smart Group are earning Rs 10000/- to Rs 12000/- in month. Apart from financial increase, the touch with Kudumbashree  Mission envisaged them to earn and acquire a vast relationship and general knowledge.

President Valsamma Varghese and Seena Saji  elected as Secretary. This group is in its registration Process. Unit holds an average production of 7000 kg in a month. coming soon In ernakulam districit there are 10 Nutrimix units are running.  one amoung them is AMRUTHAM FOOD SUPPLIMENT, CHOORNIKARA. The unit functioning with 8 members and started in the year 2006. Unit produces an average 70,000 kg in a year with working time of 9.30 a.m to 5.30 p.m. Compared to other units in the districit they produce 'AMRITHAM' Suppliment for last two years. In 2011-2014 they had extra production of Rice Powder. Each members had an average income of Rs.7000/month if its average production come in 7000kg/month. Unit supplay mainly in Pravoor block and Pravoor muncipality. The unit is now functioning in a rented building with a rent of 11000/month in addition to that they had to pay Rs.2000 as godown rent. They want to shift the unit to choorinikara panchyat building inorder to aviod the huge rent burden. but panchyat had no common building at all. Another probleam faced by the unit is lat 3 months they don't get any payment from ICDS because of new finacial year. In my observation the unit need to improve in cleaness,Unit between members, Production of other products and starndardisation of building.

There had been 10 members in  starting, and only 4 members are working in unit . Sreyas book binding unit have already  under taken the binding works of banks, Muvatupuzha municipality and also CDS. They bind the registers and books of Union bank of India at the bank's office and registers of muncipality at municiapl office .Now they get only a little amount to save , approximately 2500/ month. They want to purchase a cutting machine to undertake more binding works and thus they can enhance their lively hood .

6 Mohamed Sharafudheen BC-SAMAGRA Kudumbashree Constructions,Ernakulam “Kudumbashree Constructions” - an all women construction team with 8 members- had been initiated comprising of engineer and supervisors on 01/01/2014. They have the technical competency to take up construction activities like building plans, estimates, supervision and overall technical consultancy services. As and when required, they are employing masons trained by Kudumbashree.  coming soon The major challenge is that even now people are afraid to give work to this group- they have more confidence in male contractors. They are also facing various problems with limited source of funds. Even though policy decisions has already been taken for entrusting the construction activities of Local bodies below   Rs 10,00,000/-  to Kudumbashree Women Construction Groups ,the group is not able undertake any activities due to the lack of accreditation.Accreditation as a government construction team is inevitable for the group since they have to compete with the existing giant construction agencies.     
7 Eldho Joseph OSS -2 Surya Puli Unit, Kizhakkambalam Surya Puli Unit started on the year 2000 under Rural Micro enterprises scheme. The unit was strted with 5 kudumbashree women and now the unit is working only with 3 women. The project was Rs.300000/-. In Fort Kochi and Cherai, they are getting very low income as compared to their working conditions and there is no uniformity in salary.   With a good monitoring system, we can develop a seperate house keeping section in ernakulam and it will helps to bring a standard working conditions, salary and some other benefits( ESI, PF).

As and when required, they are employing masons trained by Kudumbashree. The major challenge is that even now people are afraid to give work to this group- they have more confidence in male contractors. They are also facing various problems with limited source of funds. Even though policy decisions has already been taken for entrusting the construction activities of Local bodies below   Rs 10,00,000/-  to Kudumbashree Women Construction Groups ,the group is not able undertake any activities due to the lack of accreditation.Accreditation as a government construction team is inevitable for the group since they have to compete with the existing giant construction agencies.

Marketting is the major concern for  the tribals .So extra focus needed to improve  production and mrketing of their products. It was started in March 22, 2010 under the RME project. Total project cost is1, 60000 rupees. Full amount of the project cost is taken from the bank as loan. Repayment of loan was over and they got 50000 rupees as subsidy. They have five double machines for sewing and one table and chairs for office use.   New Style Ladies tailors extended their works to one another branch and the five entrepreneurs are currently working there. Monthly turnover of this enterprise is around 30000 rupees and this range from 30000 to 50000 rupees in seasonal times. Their future plan is to start fashion designing centre and a tailoring institution. For that they need new building and materials. In their opinion they need more financial support to elaborate their work.

The unit took loan of Rs.2,50,000 from Canara Bank, Vadanapiliy.    At the time of starting 6 members were there. Now 2 of them are coming regularly.  At present they are selling food & tea items. Each member getting Rs.200/day after give rent and purchase raw materials.There is no proper drainage system. Their loan is also pending.So they are decided to close the unit after six months.

Kudumbashree Assistance :Training , Loan Subsidy( Not Received from Bank)		 My ME is a priority project of Kudumbashree .The main objective of this assignment is adopt one Kudumbashree ME and change it into an outcome based business activity and strengthen through special focus and care. The purpose of my priliminery visit is to understand the business growth of ME and findout the problems which lead them back and to contribute a sustainable solution for its overall develepment. As part of this I have visited Sangamam Mini Store Vazhavatta on 28-06-2017 and met secretery of the same. The store was started in 2013 and the business is not in good conditon due to the absence of active involvment of members in the business.The unit required some managemental skill for expansion of business activity, new strategies for growth in pofit, computer based accounting and legal awarness in field level product delivery. These findings and recommendations were developed throgh detailed discussion with secretery. But it can only be condsolidate after a detialed discussion with all members of Sangamam ME unit.

Date of release subsidy on 23/09/2014   It is understood that this unit is not functioning now.  On enquiry it has come to my notice that the unit is topped functioning since a long period.  Even though I tried my best I could not meet any of the members of this group.       
7 PRASEETHA. A.S OSS. D/W Sivam Pottery Manufacturing Unit, Manalvayal, Meenangadi Sivam pottery manufacturing unit is working at Manalvayal area in Meenangadi Panchayath under Meenangadi CDS. The unit is working with the unity of five kudumbashree members for six years. Kudumbashree granted an amount of Rs 50000/- as subsidy and an amount of Rs 19500/- as revolving fund for working of the unit.   The manufacturing unit is working in a decayed shed. There is no facility to market the products. So there is a need of finance assistance from Kudumbashree to build the shed with a good condition, to buy a soil grinding machine and to better marketing areas    
8 SHEENA S ME Consultant keerthi napkin unit, ward 4, ambalapady,  irulam ,poothady. There are five members in this unit. They got loan Rs. 5 lakh from canara bank pulpally   I visited   Keerthi napkin unit on 27/06/2017. They started the unit on February 2016. They manufactured Eco friendly napkins, there are no chemicals they only used pine wood pulp materials for making the napkins. present status of the unit is good .  But they want good shed for the better working condition and bulk production. They face marketing as big problem.

They got 50000 Rupees. 28-06-2017 again I visited the group and interacted with group members and the group members reported that some of the group members willing to restart the group activity. I planned to conduct a group meeting 09-07-2017 Sunday.

Auditing was not done. Raw material is purchased from SIDCO Bathery. The major issues faced by the unit are lack of availability of Raw Material. They need Revolving Fund for Unit, Book keeping training, Hand holding support of Raw Material purchases.

16 MUNEER NULM Manager Souhruda backery unit, kalpetta Souhridham Plalahara unit is bakery unit lead by a group of five person located near Kripa Hospital Kalpetta. Visit was done on29/06/17 at 10 am. Members of the group are Jameela KT, Jameela K, Pathu, Ramla , Shareekath. Unit was formed on 16/02/2009. From the visit it was understood that there is team work and harmony among the group members.    They are manufacturing bakery and snacks items on the basis of the orders. They have their own shed for preparations attached to the house of one member. The condition of the shed was not satisfactory. Hygienic condition of the shed was very pathetic. Unit was availed a loan from Kerala Gramin Bank Kalpetta Branch an amount of RS 300000/- under NULM scheme. First thing that is to be bring change is infrastructural development. The shed should be developed and hygienic condition should be improved. And vessels utilised for the preparation must be changed. This is the first activity planned to improve the condition of the Unit.

They got back up subsidy Rs 50000/-    The present status of the unit was not functioning for the last three months due to lack of water. All the members are interested in this activity.

They indulge in activities like procuring chilli, corriander, corn from Karnataka and cleaning the raw materials and powdered. The product is marketed to the nearby households. Presently the unit is working and they are facing problems with branding and marketing the product.   The day I visited, the unit was not working due to repair in the machinery. Only one member was present in the unit. So I recommended a meeting with the whole unit members next week.

24 SREEJITHA N.S B/C   DDU GKY  Haritha stiching unit, poothady They started the tailoring unit along with another tailoring unit from their own mother group (Aishwarya tailoring unit) in a rented building. They were stitching and selling garments in that locality. Their unit was functioning for around three years. After that they lost the building as the owners sold the building to someone else.   Now they are not functioning together. Tailoring machines were brought to own houses. Now there is no name board or signs of the unit in that building.

M.CHACKO B/C DDU GKY  soorya coffee powder unit, ambalavayal The unit started in the year 2009 (16 -09-2009) with ten members but only four members are active now rest of the members left due to insufficient wage from the unit. The unit do not have marketing sources and marketing wing, the unit produce 15 kg of coffee powder twice in a week and grinding dry rice, turmeric ,coriander and chilly when neighbours’ approaching .Only one member is spending at the unit a day routinely. The members have loans at present in the cooperative bank Ambalavayal each member should pay thirty five thousand rupee to finish the loan. The members started to repay the loan amount of rupees of 4000 per month. The unit wants to get the support for marketing the coffee powder and they want get more orders for marketing.   Report

They don’t have time to cook foods in their home kitchens. Cafeshree, Kannur is an innovative project initiated by Kudumbashree Mission with the help of District Panchayath. 11 Kudumbashree members of various NHG’s are the beneficiaries of the project. The project started functioning in 2015 December. It was inaugurated by the Hon. MLA of Kannur constituency shri. A.P Abdullakkutty. Necessary trainings for the unit members were given by Kudumbashree with the help of AIFRHM. At present unit have an average monthly turnover of Rs.650000 from 26 working days. Koovery, Kannur Wide marketing network to promote the products of all Kudumbasree Micro Enterprises through door to door selling. Thanima Community Marketing Network  is established in June 2015 to market the products of Kudumbasree Micro Enterprises.   Currently promote the products of 46 Kudumbasree Micro Enterprises across 5 blocks in Kannur Dist..   Mainly there are three section in the Homeshop. Management Team: Management Team is consisting of 5 members registered under  Yuvasree Project managing the entire operational activities.  Micro enterprises ;  Kudumbasree Micro enterprises are producing the whole range of products distributed through Homeshop. Homeshop owners : Homeshop Owners are directly selling and delivering the products to consumers. While 205 Kudumbasree women are working in marketing around 150 women are working in 46 Micro Enterprises and 10 people are working in management & administration.  Over all 365 people are earning a permanent income through Homeshop.    
3 VINESH P DDUGKY BC BHAGYASHREE FOOD PRODUCTS, KUZHIKILAYI, POTHUVACHERY (PO), KANNUR Production of Cholestrol free virgin cocunut oil without any chemicals used as solution for cosmetic diseases,   Bhagyasree food product was launched in 8th June 2014 with a strength of 5 members. Currently 4 members working in the unit. Average production per month is 20 litre per month. Main Challenges -: 1. Non- availablility of raw material in rainy season 2. Unavailability of Permanent marketing system. 3. The unit does not have food licence. 4. Limited infrastructure 5. It is inaccessible to ordinary people due to high price.    
4 ANEESH THOMAS DDUGKY BC TAJMAHAL SOAP PRODUCING UNIT,SIDIQUE NAGAR,IRIKKUR Soap production unit, packing and distributing to Homeshop and neighborhood areas.   Tajmahal soap production unit was started its functioning on 30th June 2014 with 4 members' joint venture.Currently 4 members take effort for running this unit. Working days- All days in the week between 10 am -4pm. Production, Package & Sales activities are carried out.Sales-to Homeshop and Neighborhood areas only.Soap items are:-Bath soap,Washing soap,Washing powder, Dish wash,Hand wash,Phenol.. etc..Challenges are:- 1.Shortage of chemicals & high cost of chemicals. 2.Limitation of Infrastructure facilities,-machines, building etc

7 SUSHA N MKSP BC THEJUS VANITHA HOTEL, ANGADIKADAVU (PO), AYYANKUNU Supply of food service to the public in minimum price   Thejus Vanitha Hotel starts at 07/07/2015 in Angadikadavu town. Now 5 ladies and 2 gents are working in this unit. This hotel is working in rental building. Working time of the unit is 6 am to 9 pm. They took 15 lakh rupees as loan now it is repaying through their daily collection. They have limited income because of lona repyment.

Now there are only 5 members.Remaing left the Unite due to personal issues. Unite is located at the 3rd floor of municipality shoping complex of New busstand Thalassery. Unite is funded under the project of SJSRY. Data enrty works from public , data entry works from various govt departments and software, hospiatal data entry related with births and deaths and other DTP works are carried out on piece rate system.challenges are :1.there are many other IT unite competeres arounded .public is inconvenient to reach at IT unite, becuase it is situated in 3 rd floor    
9 SWAPNA MKSP BC AZHIKODE KANDHI WASHING POWDER UNIT Production & sale of soap powder, bathing and washing soap   Unit started functioning in the year of 2015. Now 4 women are working in the unit. They are producing soap powder, bathing and washing soap and marketed through home shop system and local market. They took loan of Rs. 1 lakh and repying through their earnings. The unit is working in the rental builiding.    
10 GIBINS DDUGKY BC NIRAVU ACTIVITY GROUP, CHUNGAKKUNNU , KOTTIYOOR Production and sale of cloth bags.   Niravu Activity Group started functioning at January 2017. It is located at Chungakkunu, Kottiyoor Panchayth. Unit mainly focussing on stiching and sale of Cloth bags. There were 10 members in the begining and at present 7 memebers actively involving in day to day activiities. They are getting work orders from Govt.Institutions,Schools, churches and also from shops. They have taken Rs.2.5 Lakhs as loan from Kottiyoor Service Co-operative Bank.They don't have enough Machienes namely Cutting Machiene and Button Hole Machiene and for doing these works they are relying on other shops. There is no Generator

The unit was started in march 2017. Name of President - Bindhu Surendran, Name of Secretary - Geetha Rajendran. The main problem facing the unit is adequate market. There are many broom sticks without sale, they need a fair market to sell their products. Through which can be elevate the tribal area and can bring a favourable change in the lives of tribal entrepreneurs.
