Koothattukulam is a town and Municipality situated in Muvattupuzha Taluk, towards the south east corner of Ernakulam district in Kerala, South India. The town lies 46 km south east of Kochi City, 17 km to the south of Muvattupuzha,16 kilometers from piravom and 38 kilometres east of Kottayam, Palai at 26 km and Thodupuzha 23 km from Koothattukulam town and lies on the M.C. Road. It lies at the junction of three districts: Ernakulam, Kottayam and Idukki.It covers an area of 2318.71 hectares.The Koothattukulam Municipality has an area of 2318.71 hectares which shares boundary with Kottayam and Idukki districts.
