Name of Municipality -Tripunithura

Tripunithura is a suburb of the Kochi Metropolitan area in the Ernakulam District of State Kerala. In state administration, Tripunithura is in the Tripunithura Assembly Constituency and old Thiruvankulam Gramapanchayath, now a part of Tripunithura is  in the piravom assembly constituency.  Tripunithura was the capital of the erstwhile kingdom of Cochin and also known as the land of temples. Thiruvankulam is the border village of Kochi and  Travancore kingdoms, the Kavaleeswaram stream separated the two kingdoms.   Tripunithura is situated in the Kanayannoor Taluk.  North boundary is Trikkakkara Municipality and on southern boundary Udaymperoor Gramapanchayath.

In order to cater the housing needs of the people, from the year 2000 to till, municipality supported  2143 for new houses, under various schemes such as Janakeyasuthranam, One lakh housing scheme, EMS housing, BSUP housing  scheme, and out of these 1609 have been completed.

Tripunithura Municipality completed the demand survey. 1837 families were covered in the demand survey. Demand for new houses under PMAY, 4th  vertical, Beneficiary led construction has been identified as 761, 721 families were identified under Credit linked subsidy scheme and 67 were identified under Affordable Housing in Partnership.
