Iritty
Iritty is a Municipality and a taluk in the district of Kannur in the state of Kerala, India. Iritty Municipality is formed as municipality on 01.04.2016. The town is the main market place for the farmer communities in the surrounding regions. Iritty is known as The Coorg Valley in God's Own Country. Iritty is one of the fast upcoming towns in Kerala and one among four taluks in Kannur district. It is located on the banks of Valapattanam River, which is originated from nearby Kodagu hills and Kottiyoor Mountains. Iritty is situated on the Thalassery-Coorg-Mysore highway. Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is situated 8 kilometres from Iritty.
As of 2011 India census,Iritty has a population of 40369, Males constitute 48.42% of the population and females 51.58%. Thalassery has an average literacy rate of 93.58%, higher than the national average of 59.5%. Both male and female literacy are 97.17%. In Thalassery, 11.74% of the population is under 6 years of age. Sc population is574 and st population is997.Male Female ratio is 1000:1066.The Iritty urban agglomeration consists of the Iritty municipality and partial area of payam& muzhakunnu panchayaths. Details of landless homeless in ULB
As per the PMAY survey landless households about 503, with land households is 1408.43 families are housing in rented house amd 19 families are in free of rent houses offered by well wishers
As per PMAY survey 1993 families have been identified as houseless.
Ø Out of 1993 families, 1408 Families are having their own land.
Ø 503 families have been found landless.
Ø 43 families are in rented house
- Among the 1190 families which have been included in the Beneficiary lead construction scheme 471 families have been added in this DPR after data cleaning.
- As per PMAY and LIFE survey,264 landless household families are identified.
- Around 360 families come under the category of Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme.
