History

Changanassey is a muncipal town in Kottayam District in the state of Kerala, India. Changanassery is connected to high-range and Kuttanad. The ChanganasseryMuncipality was formed in 1921. The area wide was 13.5 square kilometers. The town is situated near the tripoint of Kottayam, Alapuzha, and Pathanamthitta Districts. Sri. Lalichen Antony is the Chairman of the Muncipality and the vice chairperson is Smt. Ambika Vijayan.

It had one of the leading market in kerala connecting the main three districts.Changanassery Boat jetty is historical and architectural marvel. The magnificent ANCHUVILAKKU, this Stone lamb post personifies the kerala school of architechure at its finest, and was made here by the legendary freedom fighter Veluthambi dalawa himself.The surrounding market is an area renowned for being a commercial hub, and is also attribute to him.
