Farewell function for all CDS Chairpersons under Kudumbashree Kollam District Mission were conducted. The function was conducted at YMCA Hall, Kollam. CDS Chairpersons, DMC Staffs,District Programme Managere and Block Co- ordinators were attended the function. Identity Cards for Kudumbashree District Mission staffs were distributed after this function.
Three days District level training programme for Harithakarmasena Volunteers were conduced on 15, 16,17 at Panmana and Chavara Gramapanchayaths. Three days programme gives training to Haritha Karma Sena volunteers about plastic waste management. There were plastis shredding unit visit also. There were two Green volunteers in each ward of every Gramapanchayath.This programme was organized by Kudumbashree, KILA, Harithakerala Mission and Suchithwa MIssion jointly.
Kudumbashree District Mission conducted one day workshop for CDS Chairpersons who successfully completed two terms as CDS Chairperson. It was a one day programme.The workshop was aimed to help the Chairpersons to write their " anubhavakkuripp". There are 20 CDS Chairpersons in the district who were completed two terms. Ten of them were attended the worshop.
Kollam district Buds Festival named " Sarang " conducted on 2nd January 2018. Honourable Kollam MLA M.Mukesh inaugurated the function at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Kollam . Famous Poet Sri. Kureeppuzha Sreekumar were the chief guest of the inaugural function.
The students from 15 Buds / BRC School were participated in the Buds/ BRC festival. The items for competition were classified into 19 categories. Colouring, Pencil drawing, mimicry, action song, recitation, light music, single dance, fancy dress, film songs, group dance, instrumental music were in the competetion.Kadakkal Buds/ BRC School was selected as the Overall Champion of the fest and Jency from the same school as Individual Champion of the programme. District Information Officer Sri. Ajoy Chandran distributed the prizes and certificates to the winners.
"Pratheeksha" is a Job fair conducted by Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana on Decemer 27 at SNDPY HSS Neeravil, Kollam. 562 people from the age group between 18 to 35 were participated in the job fest.

Snehitha Gender Help Desk was inaugurated by Hon. Minister J. Mercykkuttiyamma at Apsara Junction, Kollam. It is a gender help desk which provides care for women and childrenand it also provide counselling, training and facility for temporary stay. The main aim of the centre is to provide help and support to those women and children who were in distress for a short duration of time and facilitating the women in distress.

Two days Residential training for CDS Accountants
A get together of elderly people was arranged as part of world elderly day at st. Angus HS, Neendakara. Health session was taken by Dr. Rahul on old age health issues and session on senior citizen protection was taken by ACP Mr. George Koshi. The inauguration was by Ms. Thankamani Pillai K, the Block Panchayat President. Grams Panchayat Presidents and other elected representatives, District Mission Coordinator, Assistant District Mission Coordinator and the ENHG team members participated in the event
150 members of Oorukkunnu colony of Thenmala Grama Panchayat were brought together and explained about the forest act, various schemes of ICDS, awareness against Anti social and drug abuse, and also various programmes of public distribution and health system of our state. One medical camp of Alopathy and ration card issue camp of civil supplies was conducted. In the afternoon, there was a vibrant cultural exchange where mudiyattam and other indigenous dance forms were performed.
3 days training programme with 25 participants exploring the tribal life of the district, tribal schemes, motivational exploration and a eye opening to their cultural extravagance.
15 participants attended the two day training programme which was of great acceptance.
