There are lot of people among us who are spending this lockdown period mostly in their kitchen doing some cooking experiments. Most of them trying their hands in preparing some traditional dishes once they have tasted in their childhood. Thiruvananthapuram district mission have organised a traditional recipe competition named 'Ruchiorma' aimed at those people who have interest in traditional savour.
Koduvally ULB of Kozhikode district and NULM (National Urban Livelihood Mission) team have together formulated various projects for helping foreign returnees who lost their jobs or decides to end their migration due to COVID 19 pandemic. NULM is a centrally sponsored urban scheme which is being implemented in Kerala through Kudumbashree. Koduvally ULB is one of the ULB's in Kerala which has maximum number of NRIs.
Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission has set a model by launching 'Vithum Kaikottum' Agri Challenge for Kudumbashree JLG members in the district to make them more involved in farming as the lock down notified in the country to contain the covid-19 pandemic is ongoing. The Kudumbashree JLG members from Kasaragod District may participate in the challenge. Kudumbashree Kasaragod District Mission envisages at spreading a new 'culture' of farming through this challenge.
Kannur: In the wake of ongoing Corona Virus lockdown in Kerala, Kudumbashree women have packed 75,000 food packets for Supplyco. A team of 780 women were instrumental in packing essentials towards disbursement of free food packets for BPL families.The team is careful to maintain social distancing while coming together for this initiative.
Balasabha members in Kottayam district who have a habit of telling lies got a suitable platform to exhibit their 'talent' through Kudumbashree district mission's lying competition. This competition is arranged as part of the second stage of lockdown challenge 'Mamankam 2020' for balasabha members in the district.
Kudumbashree Wayanad District Mission had made available the services of rehabilitational professionals to differently abled children and parents in the district during COVID 19 lockdown through telephone. District Mission have started this programme named 'Care Wayanad' in association with Nahla Charitable foundation on 27 March 2020.
As the lockdown notified to contain the spread of covid-19 pandemic is progressing, Kudumbashree Malappuram District Mission is organizing 'Vyaayamam Cheyyam Arogyam Kaakkaam' - Online fitness class for Balasabha children. The programme is being organised envisaging at developing the habit of regular exercise for maintaining good health. The online fitness programme is implemented under the leadership of Nilambur Block Mission Management of Kudumbashree Malappuram District Mission for the Balasabha children in Nilambur Block.
Farming challenge for Kudumbashree women in Ernakulam is reaping success. As the initiative to attain self-sufficiency in farming turns a month-old, the women have achieved their target by engaging in group farming.
Kudumbashree's micro enterprise units all over Kerala are producing face mask and sanitizers and are supplying it to various government departments, institutions as well as the general public as part of COVID 19 countering activities. Whereas Thiruvannathapuram district mission is gaining attention by producing faceshields that are very useful for health workers like doctors, nurses and other hospital staff who have to be in direct contact with the covid 19 patients during treatment.
Kudumbahsree is organizing various activities in the agricultural sector of the district, as the lock down notified in the country to contain the spread pf covid-19 pandemic is progressing in the country. The Pachakkari Vandi, eco friendly grow bag, micro green kitchen garden campaign and agriculture related competitions of Kudumbashree Thrissur District Mission is being a big hit in the district. Through Pachakari Vandi campaign the vegetable produced by the farming groups of Kudumbashree reach out to the public for sale. Kudumbashree women were also given training for making grow bags using 'paala' (arecanut leaf stalk). Also micro green kitchen garden campaign and agri related competitions in the name; Anubhavathile Krishi Manthrangal' is also being conducted for Kudumbashree members in the district.
